My only regret is that it wasn’t very lewd, which given the source material was a true shame. Yukikaze meets just about every fetish I have when it comes to physical traits: twintails, purple hair, tan lines/tanned skin, small but shapely breasts, and a great ass. This case turned out a lot better than I was hoping for when I saw the sample shots. It’s rather short, leaving much of the character development to the imagination, but the characters are appealing enough that that’s not too much of a problem. Finally, back in my post on Ai Saeki, I listed some cute, fun ero anime shows that I liked, but I forgot to mention Ojou-sama Yomeiri Kousou!, which is a really nice, sweet little OVA with some likeable characters and good scenes. It does seem to keep the same voice actresses, though, which is a good thing because Mikage’s voice actress was absolutely fantastic. Kyuuketsuki was a great OVA, but it looks like the second episode uses a different art style that I am not liking nearly as much. Also, the long-awaited second volume of Kyuuketsuki is coming out next month as well. Curiously, no centipedes appear to be present even though the bio of lead girl Chihiro specifically says she hates them. Next month, we get to see more tentacle stuff with the anime adaptation of Tinkerbell’s Mouryou no Nie. We’ll get to see more of Aoi Nagisa’s work – or rather, something inspired by it – in the fourth volume of the Tentacle and Witches OVA, which comes out at the end of this month. On an only slightly related note, DLSite has a lot of very relaxing spoken-word tracks I really like this one, which is very soothing. I did listen to a bit of the CD and it was sort of relaxing, I guess (I have a very small Japanese vocabulary but I’ve watched enough hentai to have some idea of what the voice actress was saying). Sort of a shame, that, but it was cheaper to get it from Amiami than to commission a proxy to order it from the Lilith store. The listing on Lilith’s site for this pillowcase states that it comes with a bonus CD containing a spoken-word erotic voice drama and a “bukkake poster.” I ordered this pillowcase from Amiami and I got the CD but unfortunately, I got no poster. I’d get a dakimakura cover of Ingrid in a second if there were one I liked but unfortunately, most of the pillowcases illustrated by Kagami have the characters looking very pregnant on one side, which is really not my thing. I like this pillowcase quite a bit, even though I wouldn’t say that Yukikaze is my favorite-looking character in the Taimanin series. Yukikaze’s theme song is titled “R.E.D.” and is performed by Maiko. Many of Lilith’s games have nice theme songs, and Taimanin Yukikaze isn’t an exception (I really bought the game just for the bonus soundtrack). They are steadily degraded and presumably their will to resist is shattered in the end, as is typical in these sorts of games. To do so, they prostitute themselves as sex slaves (which seems none too smart) however, the catch is that a magical seal is placed on them that will kill them if they disobey their masters (the seal takes the form of a marking on their tongue, which I don’t really like as it resembles a burned-in brand mark). One day, she and her classmate Rinko Akiyama (who also got a dakimakura cover) attempt to infiltrate an evil organization in the hope of locating and rescuing Yukikaze’s mother. Yukikaze is a student at a ninja training academy, where she learns demon-fighting techniques under Asagi herself. (That is, besides what happened to Sakura.) Of all the illustrators who’ve worked on the Asagi series, though, by far my favorite interpretation is Teruaki Murakami’s OVA designs. Personally, I like them each about the same but honestly, I don’t care much for Kagami’s ahegao faces, which unfortunately is his signature element. I’ve heard that many people weren’t too pleased about that, being that Kagami is a very well-regarded artist. In addition, the artwork was done by Aoi Nagisa rather than Kagami. Released late last year, Taimanin Yukikaze eschews some of the traditions of the Asagi series – most notably, Asagi isn’t the main character.
